Choosing a sign
Which material suits your sign?
Think about where the sign will hang, how long it needs to last and whether it will get wet.
- Wall and reception signs5mm foamex is light, flat and easy to fix with sticky pads or screws.
- Freestanding displays10mm foamex stays rigid at bigger sizes, so it suits easels and counter displays.
- Window and noticeboard postersA3 to A0 posters on paper or 440gsm PVC, from just one copy.
- Outdoor signsA PVC banner or a PVC poster copes with rain far better than paper.

Getting your sign right
Readable from a distance
As a guide, every 25mm of letter height reads from about 10 metres away. Bold, simple fonts work best.
Bleed and safe area
Add 3mm bleed to foamex and posters, and keep text at least 10mm in from the edge of a board.
Same-day signs
3mm and 5mm foamex and all posters can be printed the same day when you pay and approve by 7:00pm.

Sign printing questions
Tell us where the sign is going and we will point you to the right material.
Ask on WhatsAppWhat is foamex?
Foamex is a rigid, lightweight PVC foam board. We print straight onto it in full colour, so there is nothing to peel or lift.
Which foamex thickness should I choose?
3mm is fine for small signs that lean or stick to a wall. 5mm is the best all-rounder. 10mm is the one for big or freestanding boards.
Can foamex signs go outside?
They are fine outdoors for short-term use such as events. For a sign that stays out all year, a PVC banner is the better choice.
Can I get just one sign?
Yes. Foamex boards and posters can be ordered one at a time.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer. Our account details appear at checkout and in your order email. Use your order number as the reference; Faster Payments normally arrive within minutes and we start as soon as yours lands.
